Round D.154.5

by

MolteniC

The Round D.154.5 armchair was originally conceived in 1954 by Gio Ponti, one of the Italian masters of architecture and an important figure in design in the twentieth century. More than 60 years later, the chair is reborn based on the original drawings from the Gio Ponti Archives thanks to the Heritage Collection reissue project by Molteni&C. Incredibly fond of this chair, Gio Ponti used it in many of his architectural projects. The name, Round D.154.5, comes from the rounded shape of the seat and backrests, also referred to as the ‘soap bar’. Available in a range of colours and upholstery options with 2 metal finish variants for the legs.

A confluence of exemplary design, cutting-edge craft and great tradition, founded in 1934 in Italy. Over the years, Molteni has designed and built prototypes that have become mainstream, introduced new ways of crafting furniture systems that are architectural in every sense, and enlivened the homes of people who appreciate technique, detail and beauty.
