'MiniSalone', an event organised by the Consulate General of Italy in Bengaluru, held from 19th - 21st March as part of Italian Design Day 2024. This unique show brought together a collection of exquisite design pieces from local importers of Italian brands, recreating the charm of Salone del Mobile in Milan on a miniature scale. The event was held in collaboration with Simply Sofas and featured designs from Natuzzi Italia - one of Italy’s largest furniture houses renowned for capturing the essence of harmonious living.
We had the pleasure of being part of the Bangalore Winter Meeting 2023-24, held on 15th March 2024 at the prestigious Bangalore Turf Club Ltd. We celebrated an extraordinary gentleman, a founding member of Simply Sofas and a doyen of racing. The inimitable Mr R Ramakrishnan, a man of many indelible accomplishments, as well as being a Member of Parliament. We were delighted to be the official sponsor for the event as well as sponsor The R. Ramakrishnan Memorial Million - a 1200-meter race exclusively for three-year-old horses. The grandstands were filled with excitement as equestrian enthusiasts gathered to witness this thrilling event. We were delighted to be a part of a day-long Annual event by Malnad Architecture School Alumni (MASA) held on Jan 20th, at the Convention Centre, NIMHANS, Bangalore. The event hosted a panel of eminent speakers like Li Xiaodong Atelier from China, Kerry Hill Architects from Singapore, Sher Maker from Thailand, CCG Architects from Portugal, and Tropical Space from Vietnam. The event was attended by over 1000 highly enthused Architects, Students and Alumni of the Architecture department of Malnad College of Engineering, Hassan with a majority of alumni in Bangalore.
A special showcase from our collection - Infinito sofa designed by Marcantonio and Adore armchair by Nika Zupanc from Natuzzi Italia were featured at the venue.
We were excited to be a part of Designuru 4.0, a week-long event, starting from Jan 19th to 25th at Rangoli Arts Centre, MG Road, Bengaluru featuring installations, dialogues, films, and more, focused on exploring the role of architecture and design in shaping a hopeful future. Our installation, created in collaboration with Gayathri And Namith Architects titled ‘Interrogation of the Primal,' was an exploration into a design’s imprinted past, the emergent present, and the divergent future. The design process was supported by OpusCDM.
The Concept: 'Interrogation of the Primal' The act of creation, from design idea to physical reality, is it linear, or is it simultaneous states of time: Past, Present and Future? If so, where, or when, is the original? This increasingly relevant question is explored through the versatile, award winning Calligaris Saint Tropez chair, envisaged in 3 states of physical time, set against the nothingness of multi dimensional space.

On Friday, 28th July 2023, IIID Bangalore and Simply Sofas organised a Master Series presentation and Q&A session by Eliza Higgins from studio CollectiveProject. Held at the Simply Sofas showroom in Mission Road, Bangalore, the event was attended by eminent architects and other distinguished guests. The evening's highlights featured a live jazz and blues performance by Avril Quadros along with a walkthrough of the showroom, followed by a delectable spread of hors d'oeuvres and dinner.

Simply Sofas is happy to have been associated with Girish Karnad's historical play 'Crossing to Talikota'. Directed by Arjun Sajnani, the production brilliantly depicted the fall of the Vijayanagara empire in 1565 to the Deccan Sultanate alliance. Girish Karnad’s final work, the play was shown in Bangalore at Chowdiah Memorial Hall from the 10th to the 12th of March.

Simply Sofas showcased an art installation titled 'ANCESTREE' at Bangalore International Centre - the venue for the 7th edition of Designuru, the annual design festival of the Institute of Indian Interior Designers and part of the month-long Bengaluru Design Festival. The theme for this year was ‘Local, Social, Sustainable,’ based on which the installation was conceived and made in collaboration with leading architectural firm PRAXIS and brand design firm OpusCDM. The design festival was held between the 5th and 7th of December 2022.

The launch of the dedicated, new Molteni& and Dada space was brought to life by the presence of some of the south India's leading architects and interior designers, and high profile business-people of the city. A Sunday brunch event, guests explored the collection in great detail, spending most time on the Gliss Master wardrobes and Dada kitchens. Built into the lazy, glamorous spirit of the morning was a live artistic photographic shoot by one of India's leading photographers - Waseem Khan, who explored the connection between fashion and luxurious living. There was also a special Italian wine tasting session, hosted by an Italian wine expert, and supported by the Italian Chamber of Commerce. The afternoon culminated in a a Italian and Mediterranean lunch, served at the terrace level and prepared by award winning Chef Saha. The Indo-Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry organised Simply Vino, a wine-tasting event at the Simply Sofas flagship store in Bangalore on 1st December 2019. Luca Bernardini, a wine connoisseur and consultant, extended his knowledge to the guests by talking about four different wines, wine etiquette, food pairings and how each wine is different in taste from the other. Giuliano Bonato, the chairman of The Indo-Italian Chamber also co-ordinated the event. Chef Armando Di Filippo presented the scrumptious food to the audience. In celebration of poetry, the third edition of the Bengaluru Poetry Festival was organised from August 4th to 5th, 2018 at the Leela Palace, Bangalore. Simply Sofas was the Gold Partner for the event. We were happy to have our Ketty sofa from the brand NicolettiHome and Becker chairs being featured on stage for the event. Celebrity guests -Shabana Azmi, Usha Uthup, Vishal Bhardwaj, Nirupama Menon Rao were a part of the event. The festival aimed to provide space for poetry across forms and languages, including performances, talks on poetry, workshops, and interactive sessions. Over 60 poets, lyricists, singers, and musicians performed during the two-day gala. The festival with its numerous forms refreshed the minds of those gathered and enriched their poetic deft.

An intense discussion between renowned architects Krishnarao Jaisim, Sandeep Khosla, Sanjay Mohe, and author Apurva Bose Dutta marked the evening. Featured in her book 'Architectural Voices of India', these icons spoke of their unique journeys in architecture, their deep passion for creating, and the challenges facing Indian architecture today. IIID award-winner Shruti Jaipuria of Maia Design presented her unique approach to interior design through a selection of acclaimed projects - Toast & Tonic, The Black Rabbit, Smoor and The Flying Squirrel.
The highlight was the introduction of cutting-edge Italian designer furniture brand, Molteni&C, with a special feature - 'Architects and Their Furniture', which presented the work of master architects Gio Ponti, Foster+Partners, Jean Nouvel, Vincent van Duysen, Patricia Urquoila and Michele de Lucchi - designers of furniture for Molteni&C.
