500 years ago, Leonardo da Vinci had few takers for his visionary design ideas. So what happens today when a designer has a problem to solve?
For example - can a formal sofa become a plush relaxing one, appearing as if it is suspended off the floor, at the same time?
Or - can a dining table that seats 6 somehow also seat 8, or even 10; and can it last forever without using real stone?
This is when thoughtful designer and innovative furniture maker come together - to produce genius.
Such as the Koinor sofa which has flexible armrests and backrest, and the Calligaris Orbital table which opens out with a lever.

Other than the great architectural works which carry his unmistakable signature, he created a vast amount of work in the furniture sector. He promoted industrial design and introduced the idea of interior furnishing ranges produced as being "sophisticated," economic, "democratic" and modern. Molteni&C managed a reissuing project of furniture and furnishings designed by Gio Ponti. After a long journey of research, selection and study of prototypes, the collection was exhibited at the Salone del Mobile 2012. This was thanks to the cooperation and the exclusively signed agreement of the Ponti heirs and the artistic director of Cerri & Associati Studio.
